Canadian contemporary artist Bill Saunders was born in Montreal and has been painting since the age of twelve years old. At a very young age, Saunders acquired a love for Quebec scenery and his passion has only grown stronger since. His paintings were first displayed in Montreal in 1968. As demand for his artwork grew, he decided to quit his secure position with BP Canada in 1977 to paint full time. His works can be found throughout Canada and the United States. He currently resides in Oshawa, Ontario, where he continues to paint everyday from his home studio.
Painting in oils and acrylics, the artist takes a realistic approach to all his creations and endeavors to include the most important and minute details. His subjects include the timeless serenity of natural landscapes, from rolling hills to country roads. With a delicate play of color, light and sharp brushstrokes, Saunders effortlessly creates a tranquil world in which one can find a sense of peace and quietude.
