Montreal artist Dominique Boisjoli was born in 1955 and currently resides in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Boisjoli developed her style of acrylic painting over forty years. Her primary inspirations are colour, light, the sun and nature which she uses to create her floral and landscape compositions. Her paintings consist of layered textures and rich colours, all of which are connected by a happy thread of gold leaf which Boisjoli describes as “completing the story”. To her, "each painting is a great opportunity to express and it really comes out in different ways". She wants "to touch souls with a splash of happiness". Her vibrant and gestural abstract works are well known throughout Canada and the Southwest of the United States. In addition to painting, Boisjoli has been teaching art classes for the last twenty years. which foster creativity and creative thinking through painting and critique.
