Contemporary artist Roger Hardy was born in Suffolk, England in 1969. Hardy began his creative journey as a graphic designer, having graduated from Kingston Upon Thames University. In 2000, he and his wife decided to return to Roger’s hometown of Suffolk, where he concentrated on his craft full time.
Hardy primarily creates figurative constructions and sculptures using elements from local boat yards and estuary worn wood from the river Alde. The artist also paints primarily landscape paintings with bold compositions, dramatic shapes, lively movement and vivid colors. He effortlessly captures the visual experience of his native landscape by simplifying the scene, yet intensifying the pictorial language and visual expression. Hardy's work is collected throughout North America and Europe.
