Carole LATULIPE

Canadian artist Carole Latulipe was born in 1964, in Saint-Anicet, Quebec. Latulipe studied fine arts at Cégep de Valleyfield (1985) and graphic design at Concordia University (1990). The artist’s subjects vary but remain in the realm of playful, everyday characters. Most recently, she has produced a series of cats in all colors and sizes. Latulipe currently works full time at Valleyfield College as a visual art’s technician.

Biography

Canadian artist Carole Latulipe was born in 1964, in Saint-Anicet, Quebec. In 1985, Latulipe studied fine arts at Cégep de Valleyfield and in 1990, obtained a bachelors degree in graphic design from Concordia University. She briefly worked as a freelance graphic designer before teaching visual arts at a preschool for ten years. Inspired by the spontaneity and colorful expressions of the children at her work, Latulipe decided to follow their example and express herself freely on the canvas.

In the early 1990’s, her artworks were the subject of group and solo exhibitions throughout Quebec. In 2002, she co-founded and chaired (2002-2007) the Festival des Galeries d’Art in Salaberry-de-Valleyfield, which still exists today. Latulipe currently works full time at Valleyfield College as a visual art’s technician.
