Born in 1951, Denis Courchesne was born to his father, a regionally renoun tailor. At a young age he moved to Tethford Mines, where he still resides to this day. At the age of 14 the self-taught artist began his first drawings and watercolour pieces.
Following his love for art, he became an art broker for nearly 30 years, but still continue his artistic journey. His realism style is mastered with acrylic, using a spatula to give the subjects he paints -such as chairs, flowers, trees, buildings and homes reminiscent of his hometown- life. These lanscapes are painted in his signature red and yellow colour palette, and heavily contrasted by black skies and white highlights.
Courchesne has participated in numerous group and solo exhibitions, located in Montreal, Quebec Lac Etchemin and Beauce, as well as participating in many symposiums throughout the province.
