Canadian painter, sculpture, author and poet Francois Bleau, otherwise known as Zero Zoo, was born in Montréal, Québec in February of 1952. A self-taught artist, Bleau began his career in 1969 at the age of 17 when he created a multinational poetic company of which he was the C.E.O, the sole shareholder, sole employee and sole client.
From the start of his atypical career, Bleau has rejected the formula of exhibitions as he believes that in order for a work of art to truly reach the public, it can only be available for two weeks a year and in one place. The only exhibition he has ever held was in Montreal of 1986, titled the “Zérozoïste Expo” at the “Zérozoïste Museum”.
In addition, Bleau is also the author of “Précis de Zerozoisme”, a four-part series which discusses the philosophy and aesthetic of “Zerozoiste” art. His texts and multidisciplinary works are extremely diverse and inspire curiosity, reflection, awareness and a taste for adventure.
