Canadian artist Gordon Edward Pfeiffer was born in 1899 in Quebec City. Pfeiffer began painting at the age of 12 under the tutelage of Quebec art instructor A. Bonham in Quebec City and in Paris. The artist is known for his oils, pastels and watercolors, varying in subject from rosy-hued landscapes, to Quebec City scenery to nudes.

Biography

Canadian artist Gordon Edward Pfeiffer was born in 1899 in Quebec City. Pfeiffer began painting at the age of 12 under the tutelage of Quebec art instructor A. Bonham in Quebec City and in Paris. He was later influenced by Horatio Walker, Andre Bieler and Robert Pilot, among others. In 1943, Pfeiffer moved to Montreal where he continued to work and travel. He was especially inspired by l’Ile d’Orleans and the region of Charlevoix. He exhibited with the RCA from 1927 to 1952 and with the “Art Association of Montreal” at the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts from 1928 to 1954.

The artist is known for his oils, pastels and watercolors varying in subject from rosy-hued landscapes to Quebec City scenery to nudes.
