Biography

Contemporary artist Mostafa Keyhani was born in Iran in 1954 and currently lives with his family in Toronto. Keyhani began painting as a teenager, and was encouraged by his professors to pursue a career as an artist. Although he later received a diploma in Biology and Anatomy, he studied art at both Tehran University and Dusseldorf University. After graduation, Mostafa decided to expand his artistic mind in Germany and France.

Over the next seven years, he defined his craft and inner expressions by bringing a sense of uniqueness and original stylized characteristics to each of his works. Keyhani is a member of the Salmagundi Club, the Oil Painters of America (OPA), the Tucson Plein Air Painters Society (TPAPS) and the LPAPA. His works are currently being collected and exhibited throughout North America and Europe.

The artist is considered to be a modern impressionist. Light and the movement of color play an important role in his work. He is known for his use of thick sculptural paint and strong, spontaneous brush work. His compositions typically convey the lively spirit of street scenes, scenic landscapes and the beauty of floral still life.
