Paleologos Soulikias, better known as Paul, was born in 1926 in Komotini, Greece and was known for his Canadian landscape scenes. After being enrolled in art studies in Athens he decided to continue his studies in Paris in 1956, where he studied the works of renowned artists found in the Louvre. Although oil was his primary medium, he worked with all mediums.
In 1959 he decided to settle down in Montreal and was recognized for winning first place in an art competition organized by the city 6 years later (1965). Thanks to his recognition Soulikias decided to dedicate all his time to painting Canadian autumn and winter landscapes. Soon after this, his paintings started to be exhibited in multiple galleries all over the city. Nowadays, Soulikias’ work has been exhibited all over Canada, America and even all over Europe.
Sadly, he passed away from pneumonia in January of 2023, but him and his creations will never be forgotten.
