Biography

Canadian artist Suzanne Claveau was born in 1957 in Ville Saguenay, Quebec. Claveau received her degree in Fine Arts from the University of Quebec in Chicoutimi. After completing her university studies, Claveau devoted herself to painting. The artist is currently based in the Portneuf region of Quebec, where she operates a boutique on the shore of the St. Lawrence River; an environment that continually inspires her with the region's stunning scenery and human warmth. In addition to painting, Claveau enjoys teaching and attending art shows.

The artist's technique in oils was developed under the guidance of the late Mrs. Marthe McLeod, who was also followed by several other renowned artists. Claveau states, "I paint pictures that feel good.  Each of my paintings carries the vibrations of happiness".  Her words truly reflect her paintings which are distinguished by their warmth and vivacity, illustrated by the choice of brushstrokes, colors and light.
